Un Solo Beso
A mostly Spanish language album produced by the late great Billy Bryans who was an early force of innovation and a groundbreaking figure in the world of feminism and LGBT culture. The two of us connected deeply, and the album we made was a way of introducing some of the many amazing and gifted Latin musicians our city is fortunate to host. It was a blessing to have such prodigious talent join me on the recording. I wrote most of the songs, co-wrote a few with Noah Zacharin, translated one, and loved another so much I had to include it. Although it is not my tune, now some part of it is. ‘Un Solo Beso’ is about life, love, loss and heartbreak, the human spirit, and my own experience with all of that.
This album was a journey back to my roots and language, and provided a connection to the wonderful Latin Community I have come to know and love.
